Lanzarote Beach Photoshoot at Playa de Famara

There are moments as a photographer where you realise you needed something — even before you knew it.

For me, Lanzarote was exactly that.

A reset. A creative shift. A reminder of why I do what I do.

While visiting the island, I felt this strong pull to create something purely for the love of it — no pressure, no expectations. Just connection, light, and emotion.

So I arranged a couple’s session on Playa de Famara, one of the most breathtaking beaches in Lanzarote — and it turned into something really special.

Dreamy Couple Photoshoot in Lanzarote

Playa de Famara is one of those locations that doesn’t need much.

Wide open space.
Endless shoreline.
Cliffs that frame everything perfectly.

On this particular evening, we had calima — a soft desert haze that rolled in and completely transformed the light.

It created this warm, diffused glow that made everything feel softer, calmer, and naturally romantic.

No heavy editing. No forcing anything.

Natural, Relaxed & Emotional Photography Style

This session wasn’t about posing or directing every movement.

It was about letting the couple be themselves — walking, laughing, holding onto each other as the waves came in.

That “crazy in love” kind of energy that doesn’t need to be staged.

My approach is always natural, documentary-led and true to colour, and in a setting like this, it just works.

Nothing feels overdone.
Nothing feels forced.

Just real connection, captured in a place that already feels unreal.

Something about Lanzarote felt a bit nostalgic — slow, calm like time softened for a second and just let them be. Can you see this dusty soft haze, its sea mist dancing with calima! <3

Why Lanzarote is Perfect for Destination Weddings

Lanzarote offers something completely different to typical beach destinations.

It’s not polished or overly tropical.
It’s raw, textured, and full of contrast.

And that’s exactly what makes it so powerful for destination weddings and elopements.

From this one session, it was clear how incredible it would be for:

  • Intimate elopements at Playa de Famara

  • Couple sessions with dramatic ocean backdrops

  • Destination weddings with a more natural, editorial feel

  • Relaxed beach ceremonies with space and privacy

  • Exploring More of Lanzarote for Photography

It made me want to come back and explore more of what the island has to offer — not just for sessions, but for full destination wedding experiences.

    Places already on my list:

    • El Golfo – black beach, volcanic textures and deep tones

    • Papagayo beaches – softer, golden landscapes with a different feel

    • Scenic viewpoints above Famara – wide panoramic views across the island
