A Luxury Family Reunion at Dalnaglar Castle, Glenshee
Another Family Story..
I love seeing Scotland through the eyes of a family who has travelled a long way to be here.
For this beautiful family reunion, two families travelled from sunny Hollywood, Florida, to the wild and peaceful glens of Scotland. Their home for the trip was Dalnaglar Castle: a grand, private Highland setting surrounded by mountain air, misty mornings, beautiful grounds and all the quiet magic that makes this part of Perthshire feel completely different from anywhere else.
They had come together to slow down, explore, eat well, spend time outdoors and make proper memories as a family. Between country walks, trekking, hunting, time in the grounds and those cosy moments back at the castle, there was no need to rush. It was exactly the kind of Scotland trip that stays with you and honestly I loved taking part in their Story.
Family photographs, but make them timeless
The family dressed up beautifully for their photographs and completely embraced the grandeur of the castle. Soft gowns, elegant tailoring and a little bit of glamour gave the images a timeless feel, while still keeping everything relaxed and true to them.
Dalnaglar gave us so many wonderful little corners to work with. Inside, we used the character of the rooms, the warm light through the windows, the piano, the library and the more intimate spaces for smaller family groups and individual portraits. Outside, the castle itself, the lawns and the surrounding Highland landscape gave us a completely different feel: open, cinematic and unmistakably Scottish.
The best part? Nothing needed to feel stiff.
I gently guide families when they need it, so nobody is left wondering where to put their hands or how to stand. Then I leave room for the moments in between: the laughs, the glances, the parents looking at their grown-up children, and the small bits of chaos that make a family feel like a family.
Jessica later sent me the loveliest message:
“Wow, they are great and I don't look awkward in all of them!!!! It was such a pleasure working with you and thanks for posing me! Great job!!!!”
That is always what I want people to feel when they see their gallery. You do not need to be “good in photos.” You just need to arrive as yourselves, enjoy being together and let me take care of the rest.
A Scottish Highlands experience for families travelling from the USA
For families visiting from America, a private Highland stay can be such a wonderful way to experience Scotland. Instead of trying to fit every landmark into a busy itinerary, you have space to settle in together, enjoy beautiful food, explore at your own pace and create photographs that mean something long after the trip is over.
A family photo session can fit naturally into that experience. We can create a relaxed plan around your stay, using both the interiors and the grounds, allowing time for larger family portraits, smaller groups, couples, grandparents, siblings and individual photographs too.
This reunion at Dalnaglar Castle was elegant, warm and full of personality. A little bit glamorous, beautifully Scottish and completely about the people who had travelled so far to be together.

Absolutely. I create a simple, relaxed plan so we capture the full family together, each household, smaller groups and natural moments throughout the session—without it taking over your whole day.
We feel awkward in front of the camera. Will you pose us?
Yes, gently. I will guide you into flattering, natural positions and keep things moving so it never feels overly formal. The aim is polished photographs that still feel like you.
