Anna & Mathew

Wedding Photography Perth

I was super excited for meeting these two and discover their unique connection! I was glad that in no time they were comfortable with me and simply enjoyed their time together while I shoot away. As a photographer and a person its so special to learn about different kinds of love. It was a big honour to be part of their day.

Their Story

Mathew and Anna’s story is one of those fairy tales or perfect love stories that you cannot wait to hear; They met in Tanzania almost 9 years ago. Anna was 11 and Mathew was 14 at the time. They ended up at the same church in Dar es salaam where their parents became friends. Anna remembers the delicious bakes Mathew’s mum made at the time which is no surprise the stunning wedding cake was made by Mathew’s mum.

Anna’s Family moved on to Zambia shortly after, and a few months after that Mathew's family moved back to the Philippines. The couple was in touch for two years however the contact faded away. About 7 years after they both moved away from Tanzania, Mathew found Anna again and we started chatting and catching up again. They …

‘‘ started talking...and haven't stopped since."

A year later they were in a long-distance relationship for another half a year until Mathew could come to join Anna in the UK. It was a miracle that he was able to come as quickly as that. And then yet another miracle that he was able to settle down in the same city as her. They both knew from the beginning that they were meant for each other and wanted to get married. Eventually, they just decided …

…"let's get married sooner rather than later as the time is never going to be perfect"

...so they did! Life is about growing together. They got engaged in February and had their wedding six months later.

I was lucky that the couple had trusted me with the location as we break into the wood farm and run across the roads. It was great to watch them be happy and free surrounded by nature, on a typical rainy day in Scotland.

The religious- Christian ceremony took place in the Moness Resort located near Aberfeldy. Their closest friends and family have travelled from across the world to give Anna and Mathew their blessing. Mathew's immediate family came from the Philippines and Tanzania. Some of Anna’s family and friends came over from Poland and her parents from Belgium. Anna’s brother and his wife flew from Germany just after their wedding. University friends came up from England. Finally, their community of family and friends from Dundee attended the wedding as well. It was a miracle to see most of their nearest and dearest show up despite the distance they had to travel.

As a wedding Photographer in Perthshire, It was a pleasure to vibe along with so many happy people and crate these amazing memories, the day was filled with lots of fun shoots!
