kathryn & rowan @Forter castle

It was such a frosty day, I driven over an hour from home for a wonderful wedding set in Forter Castle,
Kirkton Of Glenisla, Perthshire
close to glenshee mountains. History Fact: the historic Scottish Castle Forter Castle, built by the Ogilvys of Airlie as a fortified house or ‘Fortalice’ in 1560, the castle fell in 1640. When you visit you will see the full tale on the beautifully painted ceiling.

The principal reason for construction was to fortify and protect the entrance to the Balloch pass to Glenshee and the important Moneca Pass to Braemar and the North.

It was great to enter warm castle and meet the families getting ready for the big day! The interior and mood was breathtaking and sophisticated.

Kathryn and Ron choose to do a traditional scottish ceremony with with Tying a knot as well as drinking from a quaich. The quaich is often referred to as ‘the loving cup’ or cup of welcome or friendship and its two handles make it ideal for sharing. King James VI of Scotland presented a quaich to Anne of Denmark on the occasion of their marriage in 1589 and since then quaichs have often been used in wedding ceremonies. Drinking from the same cup is a lovely symbol of the love and trust between the couple. Because it is traditionally ‘the cup of welcome’, drinking from it can also be seen as a way of welcoming the bride and groom into each other’s family too.

Family gathered in a narrow Cave-curved room for the wedding Ceremony, Room was filled with warmth and magic, Bella-furry friend was present and on duty.

It was such a cold day yet we very bravely went into the nature for some couple intimate session, I always recommend running away for 5 minutes can give lots of beautiful memories.
