Bardmony Estate sits amongst the rolling Perthshire countryside near Alyth, surrounded by private gardens, woodland and open views over the Strathmore Valley.
At the heart of the estate is its Georgian house, giving the whole place that understated Scottish country-house feeling without it ever becoming too formal.
It is one of those venues where you can imagine a wedding unfolding slowly rather than feeling squeezed into a rigid timetable.
Morning coffee inside the house.
Getting ready with the windows open.
A ceremony somewhere in the gardens.
Champagne outside.
Croquet on the lawn.
Dinner stretching into the evening.
And ten quiet minutes disappearing from everyone together.
That kind of wedding day suits my approach completely. Trully.
An Intimate Scottish Elopement Without the Traditional Wedding Formula
One of the things I loved most while photographing at Bardmony was how naturally the estate lends itself to a smaller, more intimate wedding or elopement.

For an elopement, I could imagine something incredibly simple.
Getting ready together in the house.
A private ceremony.
A bottle of champagne in the garden.
A slow wander around the estate while I photograph the two of you as you actually are.
Perhaps a drive somewhere nearby later in the afternoon.
Dinner.
Then back outside when the light softens.
It does not need to become a twelve-hour production just because it is your wedding.
Sometimes less gives you more room to actually feel it.
